Dutch GP. Driver´s comments

Dani Pedrosa: ‘I think its too early to start thinking about the championship. The only thing I want to do now is to keep concentrated and prepare the races one by one’.
Valentino Rossi: ‘I always like to race at Assen. The track suits my style and last year we make a good race with the 4-stroke and we set the fastest time. The team has been working very hard and we now have a better package but the competition is now more hard. The last races have been very difficult but have been good fun. I make a mistake in the last race and Ducati arrive first which is good for the championship. We made some tests after the race in Barcelona with some new Michelins and we test some suspension and exhaust parts and the results of the day were good. I am happy with the position in the championship and I think we are in good shape!’Nicky Hayden: ‘Just like Mugello and a lot of tracks this season I ain’t never been to Assen or Holland. I heard a lot of good things about the place – gotta lot of history and I’m real lookin forward to gettin out there. Catalunya was good in the end. I gotta good start and had some pretty good battles in the race. The test we did after the race was good and I think I learned a lot from that day. I’m really lookin forward to the race weekend when we can hopefully build on all the good points to come out of the last days at Catalunya. Bring it on.’Fonsi Nieto: The Assen circuit is one of the most technical of the Championship. It is on a layout like this where you really can appreciate the abilities of a rider. I personally have not very good memories of the circuit because I had a very heavy crash two years ago, fracturing both feet. Besides, the weather is quite unstable and it turns the races into a real lottery; it may be raining but then the sun comes out and the track gets dry in an instant. The race in Barcelona left me a bad taste, because my own error when counting the laps left made me loose a victory that could have been mine. The result was good, at least, and were closer to the leadership, but the thing I want most right now is to win a race. Toni Elias: I have very good memories of Assen, because it was here where I took my first victory two years ago in the 125cc, and last year I took my first podium in the 250cc. The track is very technical and fast and that turns it into a very amusing but at the same time complicated track. I would have loved to finish in a better position in front of the Spanish fans in Barcelona, but it was a good result for my team and me anyway. I hope to reduce Poggialis overall advantage in Assen. But nevertheless, my main objective is to win races without thinking much about the championship. Dani Pedrosa. Were coming back to a circuit that brings back very good memories to me. Last year I took the victory here. Assen has a very complicated layout, first because of the never-ending amount of corners and second because its very fast with many bankings. The race in Barcelona was a beautiful victory for me, because I had been looking forward to winning a race at home, in front of the Spanish fans, for a long long time. I think its too early to start thinking about the championship. The only thing I want to do now is to keep concentrated and prepare the races one by one.
