The Motorland Aragón circuit hosts the fifth and sixth rounds of the FIM CEV Repsol this weekend, featuring a total of 9 races. Titles could be decided in the Moto2 European Championship and the European Talent Cup.
After almost a month’s break, the FIM CEV Repsol returns to action to contest two consecutive rounds this weekend, in which a total of 9 races will be held. The 3 classes will have 3 races each, with the FIM Moto3 Junior World Championship and the Moto2 European Championship holding 1 on Saturday, while the European Talent Cup will have 2. On Sunday the schedule is reversed, with 2 races for the FIM Moto3 Junior World Championship and the Moto2 European Championship and 1 for the European Talent Cup.
In the Moto2 European Championship, Yari Montella is the series leader, after winning all 6 races held so far. The Italian could be proclaimed champion this weekend if he maintains his winning streak. The situation is very similar to that of David Alonso in the European Talent Cup. The Colombian rider arrives with 52-point lead over Alberto Ferrández and, if he wins at least two of the races and is on the podium in the other, he could become champion.
Xavier Artigas continues to lead the FIM Moto3 Junior World Championship, after winning one of the three races held at the last round in Jerez and pulling away from his nearest rival, Pedro Acosta. Artigas arrives in Aragon after the announcement that he will be a Moto3 World Championship rider next season with the Leopard Racing Team, confirming once again that the FIM CEV Repsol is the perfect springboard to MotoGP.
