Rossi secures pole position in France in view of rain forecast for tomorrow

Fonsi Nieto fourth in 250cc, Toni Elias fifth and Dani Pedrosa sixth in 125cc

Valentino Rossi doesnt want surprises for tomorrow and given the weather forecasts predicting rain for the next to days, the Repsol rider preferred to secure the pole and leave his rivals no option from the beginning. His team-mate Nicky Hayden, riding again on an new track for him, finished thirteenth fastest and is thrilled with the French track.

In the 250cc, Fonsi Nieto has been the fastest of the Repsol riders on the Le Mans, setting the fourth fastest time. His team-mate Toni Elias finished fifth, Sebastián Porto sixth and Jorge Martínez Aspars young pupils, Joan Olivé and Héctor Faubel, finished thirteenth and fifteenth respectively. And in the minor category, great performance of young Héctor Barberá, who after being fourth fastest during a large part of the session, finally had to settle for ninth. Dani Pedrosa, who was among the fastest throughout the session, finished sixth fastest due to some tyre and technical engine problems on his bike, while Pablo Nieto had a light crash in his thirteenth lap, a few minutes before the end of the session, setting him back to the eighteenth position of the provisional starting grid.
