France GP. Second practice. Driver´s comments

Fonsi Nieto: I’ve had good results in wet races, but luck is a too decisive factor and anything might happen.
MotoGP, Valentino Rossi, 1.51´583 seg, 2º, starting grid position 1st: Im very happy for the pole position and to make a good lap time. We have not so bad setting on the bike in the dry conditions and I am happy today because the wet is not my favourite conditions. Anyway, we were fast and we worked very much for the settings for the wet. We made some adjustments to the shock and we worked hard on tyre choice for the race and its possible to be nearly the fastest today as well. I hope tomorrow we have good conditions for the race though. MotoGP, Nicky Hayden, 1.57´325 seg, 19º, starting grid position 13th: Bit of a rough day really this morning in the rain I was really having some fun and was running pretty high up the leader board for a while. I came in and we put in a different tyre and it felt good. I managed one lap and on the second lap it felt like it had a bit more grip and I got kinda excited and pushed the front and that was it. One of those things. Then this afternoon I as trying to get comfortable again I lost the front. I dont have a lot of experience in the wet but with the dirt track experience in the States I do quite enjoy it. Got a fourth row start dont have a lot of set-up experience here well just have to see tomorrow! 250. Fonsi Nieto, 2.01´033 sec, 3rd, grid position 4th: I’m happy, I’ve felt quite good today in the wet, but it’s a complicated track and it’s easy to crash. Keeping on the bike for 26 laps will be hard tomorrow because this track is very slippery when it’s wet. I have a good rhythm in dry and we only have to decide which rear tyre we’re going to use if the race takes place under normal conditions. I prefer a dry race because it’s going to be like a lottery if it rains, and what I really need now is to ride dry. Sure, I’ve had good results in wet races, but luck is a too decisive factor and anything might happen. 250. Toni Elias,  2.05´512 sec, 17th, grid position 5th: I’m not very satisfied, it’s been a very complicated day due to the rain. This track is very slippery when it rains and we’re having a lot of problems with the rear end that are hindering me from riding on the wet the way I would like to. Anyway, starting fifth is not bad at all. If it’s a dry race I hope to have a little bit more acceleration and if it’s wet I hope that we’ll be able to solve the traction problems. The crash this afternoon was due to those rear end problems, but fortunately I’m perfectly well for the race.           250.Sebastián Porto, 2.02´365 sec, 7th, grid position 6th: The practices went fine today. Too bad it rained so much, especially during the free practice. Now we have to wait for tomorrow and see what happens with the weather, although the bike is working great both in dry and wet. I’ll do everything I can, regardless of the weather. 250. Héctor Faubel, 2.08´940 sec, 25º, grid position 15th: It’s been a very complicated day due to the rain, we don’t have any experience under these conditions and we had to set the bike in case it also rains tomorrow. We tried to learn on the wet track. The session was quite positive, but we still lack experience. I’m really hoping for a dry race. 250. Joan Olivé, 2.12´469 sec, 27th, grid position 13th: These wet practices have helped me to gather experience. In this class I’ve only been able to ride in wet in Suzuka and days like this help me to get used to it. Before focussing on the settings of the bike I have to get used to riding fast under these conditions. However I hope that it doesn’t rain tomorrow, because I feel much more comfortable in dry. 125. Pablo Nieto, 2.12´942 sec, 30th, grid position 18th: My whole body is sore, I can hardly move. Yesterday’s crash was heavy and I have a small fissure on the sacrum. When I put on the leathers, the back protection presses a lot on that area and the pain is unbearable. I have to make a big effort to get on the bike, so this morning I preferred not to take part in the free practice and not to take any unnecessary risk. I made some laps in the afternoon to see how I feel and to test some changes on the settings, just in case the race turns out to be wet. I’ll start from the back tomorrow and under these circumstances, the only thing I can do is to try to finish the race and get as many points as possible.                        125. Dani Pedrosa, 2.06´371 sec, 9th, grid position 6th: I obviously can say that I’m very happy with the results of today, because until now I had only lapped very few times fast under wet conditions and always on circuits with good asphalt and grip. But here it is different, it’s very slippery and it’s complicated to stay on the bike. In a single second you may be flying off the bike without even knowing the reason. If the rain shows up tomorrow, the race will be a lottery. I’ll try to set a comfortable pace and avoid the error of trying to get too fast if somebody overtakes me. 125. Héctor Barberá, 2.06´127 sec, 8th, grid position 9th: We’ve found good wet settings today and if the rain shows up during the race, I think that we’ll be able to be in the front because I feel very comfortable with this set-up. Although I prefer to ride on a dry track, I think that it’s going to rain tomorrow. The risk will be higher but it may also be big fun.
