García Dols and Yamanaka enjoy great race in Jerez

The Repsol Moto3 riders finish eighth and ninth, respectively.

Sergio García Dols made a good start from 13th position and managed to ride with the front group for much of the race. The Spaniard then lost contact with the leading riders in the final stretch, but managed to place 8th.

Ryusei Yamanaka matched his best World Championship result from last season’s Catalan GP. Showing a great pace, the Japanese rider climbed from 17th place to finish 9th.

After the third Moto3 race of the season, García Dols is 13th in the overall standings with 13 points. Yamanaka is 16th with 7.

Sergio García Dols

“In these two weekends it was very difficult for us to find a good feeling on the track. In today’s race there was a lot of contact with other riders, and after one of those incidents it took me a while to get settled again. At least I was able to continue fighting in the second group, which I think is good bearing in mind the difficulties we had. We will continue giving everything to improve. I hope that we continue our progress at Brno.”

“Today I made a great fightback, starting from seventeenth position on the grid and finishing ninth. It was a great job done by the entire team. After the first few laps, which are always difficult, I rode faster and faster and felt better on the bike. I led my group for several laps, and in the final stretch I was able to get closer to the group that I was leading. I know I still have a lot to learn, but we have taken a step forward over the last two weeks, so I am satisfied.”
