The Repsol rider finishes the French Grand Prix in eleventh position. Ryusei Yamanaka takes the chequered flag eighteenth.
Sergio García Dols, who started from fifth position on the grid, claimed five points at the French Grand Prix. The Spaniard fought in the front group for more than half the race, eventually placing 11th -just 0.0130s outside the Top 10.
Teammate Ryusei Yamanaka finished 18th at Le Mans. The Repsol rider had to serve a Long Lap penalty that slowed his progression as he was closing in on the front group.
García Dols moves up a position in the overall standings and is 15th with 37 points. Ryusei Yamanaka is 23rd with 13 points.
SERGIO GARCÍA DOLS – 11th
“I didn’t really expect a race like this. It was very difficult and at no time did I feel comfortable on the bike. I made a bad start and a lot of riders got past me, which hindered us a lot. I have to analyse the race well to see where I can improve. Today there was little I could do to fight against the other riders, as my feeling was so bad. I can’t take anything positive from the race, but I did have a good qualifying yesterday.”
RYUSEI YAMANAKA – 18th
“My start was not bad at all. The feeling I had was a bit strange, and that meant that I could not push very hard, so it was difficult. In addition, I was given a penalty that hurt me a lot, which was a shame. I have to reset and focus on Aragon. The weekend in general has been quite positive, especially Friday. I felt comfortable on both Friday and Saturday, and that is important. We will try to improve more at Aragon.”
