Eric Granado in Moto2 and Manuel González in the European Talent Cup secured both titles in the last racing day of this season’s FIM CEV Repsol. Dennis Foggia secured the Moto3 crown at Aragón.

Brazilian Eric Granado, who arrived in the Ricardo Tormo Circuit with a margin of 16 points over Ricky Cardús, achieved the win of the last race of the Moto2 European Championship. This result, together with Cardús’ retirement, allowed him to secure the title.

Steven Odendaal and Joe Roberts, who led most of the race, completed the podium in second and third position, respectively.

At the European Talent Cup, Manuel González also secured the title after finishing fifth in the only race held, thus being the first Champion of the category. Álex Toledo won the race and the overall runner-up position.

Over at Moto3, Jaume Masià and Dennis Foggia shared the wins of the two races held today. In the first one, Masià beat Foggia by only 140 thousandths, while in the second, Foggia achieved the win by 74 thousandths over Alonso López and 293 over Masià.

With today’s results, Jaume Masià took the runner-up position of the Moto3 World Championship, followed by Alonso López, Vicente Pérez and Jeremy Alcoba.

Jaume Masià – Moto3 first race winner

“It was difficult race, with many overtakings and quite a high pace. Alonso [López] and Vicente [Pérez] were very aggressive, so we had to restrain ourselves and don’t follow his game. I’m very happy of having got another win. I want to thank my team for their support and to everyone that came to support me.”

Eric Granado – Moto2 race winner and Moto2 European Champion

“It was a very exciting race. We had a perfect weekend and I was fast from the beginning. The race was very hard, I didn’t make a good start and the first laps were very confusing. In the end, though, I found my pace and I was able to catch up with the group and I stayed some laps with Steven [Odendaal] and Joe [Roberts]. When I saw that Ricky [Cardús] was getting closer I told myself: ‘do your best or you’ll be in trouble’. Then I passed them and I was able to do some good laps and build a good advantage. In the end, the last four laps were like riding under the rain, because I didn’t want to take too many risks. I’m very happy. Now it’s time to celebrate it with my family and work for the next year.”

“I feel very well because it was a very nice year, with good battles, with many riders fighting to win the championship. All the races were in group and there were many overtakings. Many thanks to my team, because they always did their best for me, and also to my sponsors and everyone that supports me.”
