The Repsol driver made a great start, climbing several positions and moving into eighth place on the second lap, a collision at the front of the pack meant that the safety car had to come out. When the race restarted Alguersuari kept up a good pace and in the obligatory pit stop he moved up another two positions. As the race progressed he dropped one position and mde way for his teammate, but in the end the latter was penalised and the Repsol driver regained his sixth place, in the end he finished 19 seconds behind the winner, James Walker.

The next round is at the urban circuit of Monaco, where there will be just one race on 24th May.

“Today we put in a good race, taking into account where we started. It is obvious that we have a lot of work ahead of us but I think that today we demonstrated that we are very fast in the races. I am dying to race some more this season because I think that we will get some good results. The next race in Monaco will be very special, and so I can’t wait for it to come around.”
