The Circuit Ricardo Tormo hosted a second FIM CEV Repsol event of the season this weekend, in which Daniel Holgado and Fermín Aldeguer extended their respective leads in the Moto3 and Moto2 series, and Adrián Cruces remained at the helm of the ETC.

In two crash-filled races in the FIM Junior Moto3 ™ World Championship, which included a red flag in the second of them, Daniel Holgado managed to prevail in both, claiming three wins from as many races so far in the class this season.

An incident on the opening laps of the Moto2 race caused another red flag, which forced the contest to be reduced to 9 laps. At the restart, the script from the round at Estoril was repeated and Aldeguer also achieved his third victory in three races, followed once again by teammate Alonso López.

Brian Uriarte and Álvaro Carpe were the winners of the weekend in the European Talent Cup. Uriarte made a great fightback to win the first race after starting fourteenth on the grid. In the second contest Carpe- who started third-, remained in the front group, taking the lead on the final laps and claiming his first victory.

With these results, Daniel Holgado and Fermín Aldeguer extend their respective leads of the Moto3 and Moto2 standings, holding perfect records so far in this campaign. Adrián Cruces, who took an additional podium, remains the leader of the European Talent Cup.

The next FIM CEV Repsol 2021 event will be held on June 13th at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya.

Daniel Holgado – Moto3 (Race 1)

“It was an incredible race for me today. I did a great job all weekend. Getting pole position and being able to win is really nice. I am very happy with my second consecutive victory and I want to thank everyone.”

Daniel Holgado – Moto3 (race 2)

“It was one of the best races I have had; I have managed it very well. My shoulder hurt a bit from the scare in the previous race, but I’m happy because I was able to stay calm, which is positive. I want to dedicate these races to my family, friends and, above all, to my team.”

Brian Uriarte – ETC (race 1)

“It was a very difficult race, as starting fourteenth is not easy. I think we are improving race by race. I want to thank my team and my family, and dedicate this victory to my grandmother -whose birthday is today- and to my brother, whose birthday was yesterday.”

Álvaro Carpe – ETC (race 2)

“It was a very difficult race. I was pushing from the beginning, despite losing concentration. Then I managed to regain calm to be able to get up into first position. I want to thank my family, my team and my mechanics.”

Fermín Aldeguer – Moto2

“I am very happy about this victory, because we worked a lot during the weekend and were very fast in every practice session. I want to thank my team, who worked very well, and my family.”
