Dani, as a rider has won three world titles and Stoner one. Another thing would be to do some sums and compare Dani and Stoner using the bike and the tyres. This sum, for the time being, is inferior to the one done by Ducati.
From now on we must work and take each race as it comes, just to see the result at the end of the weekend. We are now in the middle of a three week break which will help us to recharge our batteries, and so tackle the rest of the season with renewed strength.
Don`t think that the factory is also on holiday. The engineers have carried on working so as to add the improvements that are needed for the race in the Czech Republic. They are also preparing some components that will be tested after the forthcoming Grand Prix, since we are going to spend some time in Brno training.
It is certain that Michelin will have recharged its batteries too because, as a brand, it has a lot in play in this championship. With the new tyre regulations we could say that we are gambling the race result in a sort of lottery. The luck of the draw – choosing the right tyres.
It is regrettable having to prepare a bike with tyres that you know will not last the whole race. The fact that the first three over the line use the same make of tyre and those that use another are finishing behind them shows that tyres are a very important part of the whole set up of a winning team.
From the outside, many may think that tyres are the perfect excuse to justify the results in a race, but from the inside we see how the tyres wear down and end the race and we also see what happens when a rider takes a risk too far on them. If Rossi and Dani used another make we would be speaking less about them.
