Once again the Repsol team wins the 6×6 trucks class
The MAN truck with the Repsol colours, manned by Jordi Juvanteny, José Luis Criado and Rafael Santiveri, achieved its objective last Sunday thus rounding off the success of the Repsol Team at this edition of the Dakar. They not only managed to finish the race but also took the victory of the 6×6 class.
Seventeenth in the overall standings, winners of the 6×6 class, Juvanteny, Criado and Santiveri were very satisfied after being able to reach the finish once again. However, they admit that this has been a very demanding Dakar and that reaching the finish has meant an extraordinary effort.
“With no doubt this has been an extremely hard Dakar they explained we cannot say that it has been the hardest of all, you never know, but its been very complicated. We have had to make use of all our experience in the race to be able to finish. In the first stage, for example, we suffered a lot of mechanical problems, and we arrived almost at the time limit, but we arrived”.
Juvanteny, Criado and Santiveri have spent a lot of hours on the road, many of them at night, as most of the trucks and thats an additional difficulty factor: “We havent had much sleep. We knew that it would be like that, but the physical effort has been enormous and we dont remember bouncing so much in the cabin as this year”.
“Our planning they added has been very serious and professional. We reached the end of the rally with the mechanical parts in good conditions, and thats the reason why we have achieved our aims. We also want to congratulate Nani for his victory. We have lived all his participations of the last years from very close and we knew that his first victory would arrive very soon”.
With no doubt, the will be again at the starting podium of the Dakar next year.
