Laia Sanz, Women`s World Trial Champion 2008, won the third and final round of the World Championship held today Friday in San Juliá de Lória, Andorra. With this triumph, the Repsol rider has brought a brilliant end to the conquest of her eighth world title which she won last weekend in Castellolí (Barcelona).
The Spanish rider maintained her superiority, which she had demonstrated in the two previous dates. In the first of these, held last March in Ettelbruck (Luxembourg), Laia Sanz finished with 11 points, 15 fewer than Rebekah Cook, second. Last week, in Castellolí, she was given 10 points and finished with a lead of 31 points over Iris Krämer, her main rival. And today she completed the lap without receiving a single point.

“The fact that I started this date with the objective of recovering the world title already accomplished meant that I could ride more calmly and I could go out to enjoy myself. In these conditions and on some quite simple zones, everything seemed easier. Nevertheless, finishing without any penalty nor any points is never easy to achieve. I had not done this for some time and my satisfaction right now is incredible”.
