Laia Sanz dominated the test held this Saturday which started a fresh edition of the World Female Trials Championship, a contest in which the Repsol Montesa-HRC rider aims only to add a further title to the seven consecutive titles she won between 2000 and 2006. On a rough terrain which was very muddy due to the rain fallen over the past few weeks, Laia Sanz showed great superiority, and finished the first round with a significant lead over her rivals.

In this manner she secured a victory that puts her again this year in the lead of the world classification. The World Female Trials Championship will have two more tests, which will be disputed in Castellolí (Barcelona) and La Rabassa (Andorra), the 20th and 26th September, respectively.Laia Sanz, Last Sunday I won the first test of the European Championship and today I won the first World Championship test, on a much more demanding track. This start to the international season is therefore very satisfactory and I’m going to give it my best in order to keep it that way. I made the odd mistake during the first round and there were a few points I could have avoided. During the second round I felt more comfortable, maybe under less pressure, and the improvement was evident. It has been a good start to a World Championship which for me is more than a challenge. That’s precisely why what’s most important is that I finish it in the best possible way. Luxembourg G.P. classification1. Laia Sanz (Montesa) 11 (10+1) 2. Rebekah Cook (Gas Gas) 26 (20+6) 3.
