The World Championship moves from Japan to Malaysia in less than a sigh
After the victories of Pedrosa and Elias in Japan they now arrive to the heat and humidity of Malaysia
Only three days for resting plus one for travelling and the riders will have to put on their leathers again for a race weekend, this time on the intense heat of the Sepang track. Located half an hour away from the city of Kuala Lumpur, Sepang is known for being the track with one of the longest straights of the Championship and for his excellent width. After the MotoGP race experienced in Japan, everybody is now looking forward to this weekends race to see how far Alex Barros and his new four-stroke Honda can get this time, and how long Valentino Rossi will wait to give his reply on the track. The setting problems that followed Rossi throughout the weekend hindered him from clinching another victory, but this weekend the Italian star will be back fighting for the highest step of the podium. His team-mate Ukawa, immerse in his own duel for the vice-championship, will have in Sepang a new opportunity to enlarge his advantage in the overall standings, increasing the gap between himself and the third qualified, the Italian Max Biaggi. In the 250cc everybody will be watching for the performance of Toni Elias, after his victory in Japan, where he managed to overtake Marco Melandri in extremis at the chicane before the entrance to the main straight in a brilliant last lap. His team-mate Fonsi Nieto, who has almost said good-bye to the title, will try to get another victory for his records and thus give another reason for satisfaction to his team.  Nothing is decided in the 125cc yet and after the race in Japan the Championship is open again. Dani Pedrosas victory in Motegi was convincing and the young Honda rider states that he wants to continue like this for the rest of the season, without actually thinking about the overall standings and the points. Joan Olivé, after a good race in Japan, where he finished eighth, arrives in Malaysia only three days later and very motivated, looking forward to the beginning of the official practices of the Malaysian Grand Prix.
