Marc Márquez keeps improving in Valencia

The second test day at the Ricardo Tormo Circuit was again satisfactory for Marc Márquez. The Repsol rider only did 36 laps today and focused on trying different set-ups for his Moto2, trying to understand how the changes affect the behaviour of his machine.

Márquez took the track at noon and continued with his work with the aim to learn about his new Moto2 in detail. The Repsol rider spent the most part of today’s session in his garage, while his team’s members made several changes in his bike’s set-up, so that Márquez could then test them on track.

In total, the current 125cc World Champion completed today 144 kilometres, with a fastest time of 1 minute, 36 seconds and 6 tenths, a result that left him in the fifth place of the -unofficial- classification, of the more than 30 riders that will be at this season’s grid. This outcome shows Marquez’s good progress as, in only his third test session in Moto2, he is already among the fastest riders.

Tomorrow the third and last test session will be held in Valencia, although the Repsol rider will test again next Tuesday, February 15th, at the Portuguese track of Estoril.

Marc Márquez 1’36.6s, 36 laps, 144 km.
“I am satisfied, although I am still learning about the bike, we are slowly improving. We have tried different setups during the day. Some of they worked, some didn’t. Anyway, the aim is still to do a lot of kilometres and be ready when we arrive to the first race. This is a learning season, which means we have to be patient and keep progressing in this category. We know more about the bike’s behaviour every day and this allows us to improve our pace. The first days it was the bike that took me, but now I am more comfortable with it as time goes by”.
