Marc Márquez leaves Jerez with further improvement

A new and intense working day where Marc Márquez has been able to leave the track with very positive feelings after the three testing days at the Jerez Circuit. The Repsol rider did another 55 laps to the Andalusian track and finished the day with a time of 1 minute, 43 seconds and 1 tenth.

Taking advantage of the excellent weather of Southern Spain, Marc Márquez and his team concluded three hard-working days in Jerez de la Frontera, where the Repsol rider completed 730 kilometres. After achieving a consistent improvement, the assessment of this tests was very positive for his adaptation to a completely new category, in which the references from the 125cc class are of little use.

Step by step, Márquez has increased his confidence in Moto2, and is ever more coordinated with his new team. An effort reflected in the slow improvement of his feeling and the constant progression of his times. With the set-up more and more to his liking, the Repsol rider dedicated the last part of the day to do a race simulation, doing several consecutive laps with an excellent and consistent pace.

After these tests, the Repsol rider will enjoy some well deserved free days. On Monday he will receive the National prize Princesa de Asturias S.A.R. Doña Letizia. Márquez will resume his training in seven day in the same circuit, taking part in the last tests of the preseason before the World Championship starts in less than a month in Qatar.

“I am satisfied after these three days of tests. We achieved our aims despite we have still a lot of work to do. Everything is new for me and I have to get used to the bike and the team. But we are slowly gathering kilometres and increasing my confidence on the bike. In the morning we continued with different tests and configurations, while in the afternoon we completed a longer run where we were fairly consistent. I am very satisfied and I have to thank my team for their good job. We still have three days ahead and I hope we are able to improve even more”.
