Marc Márquez officially presented today the team that will accompany him in his debut in Moto2, a category in which he will count again on Repsol’s support. In an event celebrated today in Barcelona, the rider from Cervera (Lleida) unveiled the full colour design he will wear this season on his overall and bike.
In his fourth year in the Motorcycling World Championship, Marc Márquez has been confirmed as one of the referents of this sport and also of Repsol at high-level competition.
Marc Márquez keeps the energy company’s support, which he has since his debut on the World Championship at only 15. Together they also won the World Championship title just a few months ago.
During the preseason tests that took place in Montmeló, Cheste, Estoril and Jerez, the young rider showed an extraordinary capability to adapt himself to the Moto2 class and has already set times among the top registers of all those tracks.
Thanks to Repsol’s support, Marc Márquez will face this new challenge surrounded by a highly experienced team, spearheaded by the ex rider Emilio Alzamora and the technical manager, Santi Hernández.
Repsol, after more than 40 years in the high-level competition world, will continue its presence in MotoGP – the World Championship’s premier class – with a fantastic team that includes Dani Pedrosa, Andrea Dovizioso and Casey Stoner.
The Marc Márquez’s team launch, that was held at La Pedrera, in Barcelona, also served to confirm once again Repsol’s determined support of young stars. The energy company will again be present in the 125cc class of the Spanish Road Racing Championship with two very young talents: Álex Rins and Álex Márquez, Marc’s younger brother.
The official launch was attended by a broad representation of Repsol, spearheaded by its Executive Director for Communication and Chairman’s office, Begoña Elices.
Marc Márquez will start tomorrow the last preseason tests in Jerez before the beginning of the World Championship, that will set off next march 20 in Losail Circuit (Qatar).

I am very happy that we can see the bike with the new colours, I was looking forward to riding it with the final livery. When you ride such a beautiful bike, it is even more exciting. First of all, I want to thank Repsol and Catalunya Caixa for their support. The bike is very nice-looking, it looks like Dani’s MotoGP, with Repsol colours and also with the Catalunya Caixa colours. I am very excited about this project and I am looking forward to start. For the moment everything looks fine and now I have to be fast on the track”.
