Morocco Rally, last test for Marc Coma

The Repsol rider will complete his preparations for the 2010 Dakar by taking part from tomorrow in the Morocco Rally, which will finish next Saturday

A week after his fifth triumph in the Pharaohs Rally, Marc Coma will face a new and demanding round in the Morocco Rally. With more than 2.000 kilometres in six racing days, 1500 of them timed, the dunes and mountains of North Africa will allow him to take full advantage, from tomorrow, of the last evolution of the KTM 450 Rally for the last phase of preparations for the 2010 Dakar.

Winner of the 2006 and 2009 editions, the Repsol rider was forced to settle last year for the third position in his debut with the KTM 450 Rally, when he made a great recovery after receiving a 30-minute penalty, winning three stages. In this edition, Coma will try to complete a spotless season in which he has won, apart from the Dakar, at the Abu Dhabi, Sardinia and Pharaohs rallies.

Marc Coma

“This is the last race before the Dakar, virtually just after the Pharaohs Rally, which went very well. This round will serve us to keep improving physical form and the pace on the bike, in a terrain completely different from what we saw in Egypt. We will try to repeat the result we got there to complete a fantastic year in which, apart from the retirement of the Baja Aragón, we won all the races we took part in. We do not want to obsess about victory and as always the aim is to think day by day, working at our own pace. Here we will also have the full manufacturer support from KTM, that will travel to Morocco to complete the preparations for the Dakar”.
