New victory of Valentino Rossi and third place for a recovered Tohru Ukawa

It was three laps from the end of the race in MotoGP and the lead group was led by Olivier Jacque and his Yamaha two-stroke, followed by Alex Barros, Rossi, Biaggi and Tohru Ukawa. But in the end of the straight curve has become the surprise when Barros, Jacque trying to overtake, lost front grip, dragging down the French driver from Yamaha. So far, the race had been in a group with a curious combination of two bikes and four-stroke. After the fall, Rossi has found a clear track ahead and has been first to cross the finish line. Biaggi, second, failed to prepare an assault on their compatriot Tohru Ukawa as very brave over the weekend and third at the end of GP.

In 250cc, fortune has not been here today with Fonsi Nieto, who although he has not succeeded, fought to the last moment to improve their fourth place finish. After a poor outing, Fonsi has lost too much time trying to outdo Matsudo, De Puniet and Locatelli, while seen as escaping the leading group composed of Rolfo, Melandri and Porto. With six laps remaining the rain appeared and the Race Director has been forced to display the red flag, ending the test. Fonsi behind, fourth finally entered his teammate Toni Elias in sixth place in a race that has come quite touched his left hand after the sharp fall Saturday morning.

In 125cc, as usual, has lived a hard-fought new career. Frenchman Vincent has set a fast pace from the start and only the young De Angelis has been able to follow. Behind the local Jenkner, Dani Pedrosa, Pablo Nieto and Manuel Poggiali, who has made an excellent comeback, have fought until the last lap for third place on the podium. Finally, the last position of honor was for the local minimum Jenkner Poggiali dispute, only one thousandth of a second. Pablo Nieto finished fifth and Pedrosa, with many mechanical problems, has been delayed until the seventh position. His teammate Joan Olive, who also rode in a highly competitive group with Ui, Kallio, Borsoi Giassanti, has entered the eleventh goal.

The World Championship will now take a break for a month to return to activity over the weekend from 23 to 25 August to mark the GP of the Czech Republic
