The Repsol Honda Team rider won in the first day of the French GP, where his team mate Takahisa Fujinami took the third step of the podium. Jaime Busto was seventh.
Toni Bou keeps the momentum. Ninth win of the season for the Repsol Honda Team rider thanks to the victory he achieved today at Andon during the first day of the French Grand Prix. The several times champion finished the first lap with a huge advantage over his direct rivals and, during the second lap, secured the race in the slippery French itinerary. In the final lap, despite making a mistake in the first zone, Bou only needed to control his rivals.
His team mate Takahisa Fujinami signed a great result, as he temporarily took the lead in the first lap. The Japanese rider was able to achieve a great riding level and improve his results in the second and third laps, though the race did not fit his riding style. It was a very good performance that allows the Repsol Honda Team rider to get on the third step of the podium.
Jaime Busto had an uneven day. The Basque rider started well in the first lap, with points similar to those on the top 5, but he made several mistakes in the next phase. A result that he was able to recover during the final lap to finish seventh.
Tomorrow, the second and last day of the French Grand Prix will take place at Andon. The riders will repeat today’s itinerary, with 12 areas and 3 laps.

“I’m very happy with this result. We did a good job today, with very few mistakes, and everything went well. I had a small problem in zone 6, as I could not do it in the two first laps, but in the second I was able to solve it. Achieving nine consecutive victories this season is fantastic and it even seems impossible, but it is all due to team work. I hope they change a bit the zones tomorrow, or it would be an easy trial.”

“The third place on the podium makes me very happy, because this trial didn’t suit me. The zones were too dry and with a lot of dust, so it was difficult, but I was able to stand it. I had a mistake in the first lap because I crashed, but in the second and third I did it well and I even fought to finish second. Let’s see if we achieve it tomorrow.”

“In the first and third laps I think I did well. I didn’t see how the other riders that were behind me did it, but I think I got the points I had to get. In the second lap I had too many mistakes and I’ll have to analyse why it was so. The zones were ok and I felt great on the bike. I’ll try to improve tomorrow.”
