Non-stop season moves on to Misano

The Repsol Honda Team travel to Italy this week to compete in the San Marino Grand Prix, the twelfth round of the season.

The Misano Circuit Marco Simoncelli is a track where Marc Márquez has accumulated 9 podiums, divided into 7 victories -1 in 125cc, 2 in Moto2 and 4 in MotoGP – and 2 second places in MotoGP.

The Repsol Honda Team rider arrives in Italy after a weekend in which he qualified for Q2 and scored points in Sunday’s race in Barcelona. He will continue working to improve the performance of the Honda RC213V.

Misano is also a favourable track for Joan Mir. The double World Champion has achieved a total of 4 podiums there, with 2 second places – 1 in Moto3 and another in MotoGP – and 3 third places – 1 in Moto3 and another in MotoGP.

The Repsol Honda Team rider, like his teammate, will continue testing new setups to improve his results both in practice and in the race.

After the Grand Prix, the MotoGP teams will have a day of testing on Monday that will be crucial for the Repsol Honda Team in the second half of the season.

MARC MÁRQUEZ:

“Another race, another chance to keep on working. Misano is a circuit that is again a bit different to Austria and Barcelona, so continuing our work with testing here is important for the data. Personally, I have had some good races in the past in Misano, so let’s see what the situation is after the first session. We also have an interesting test scheduled for Monday, the last test during the season before we make a big push for the end of the year so we need to make the most of it.”

JOAN MIR:

“Of course the objective is to be better here in Misano than last weekend. It’s a track that generally has more grip than in Barcelona, which I think will immediately give us some improvements. We need to keep working as a team and trying a few things to improve the feeling and challenge the other Honda riders like we have at various points in the year. Let’s have a productive weekend and avoid falls in order to be in a good condition for the test.”
