Repsol Moto3 riders conclude three days of testing in preparation for the 2012 season.
The Albacete circuit in Spain was the scene of three days of testing for Repsol’s Moto3 ridets Alex Rins and Miguel Oliveira. The duo continued with the development of their bikes –Oliveira trying out a new Suter chassis and Álex Rins making his testing debut for 2012 following a shoulder injury.
Miguel Oliveira made the most of the good conditions on day one to put in an extended amount of laps onboard his Honda NSF 250 R. The following day he was using the new chassis which had arrived specifically for this test.
Álex Rins joined his teammate for the first time this year –his absence from previous tests forced upon him by an injury to his left shoulder. The Spaniard was able to ride his opening laps of the season onboard the 4-stroke Honda and adapt to the new category.
On today’s final testing run, Oliveira continued to work with the new chassis whilst Rins put more laps under his belt. Both are accumulating experience in order to be as best prepared for the Qatar series opener in under a month.
Rins and Oliveira left Albacete satisfied with their progression. They will be back testing next week, too: They have an appointment in Jerez from March 19th-21st.

“The test went fairly well. The first day was when we were riding with the Honda in search of our feeling on the bike, so that then we could compare this with the Suter later on. The Suter felt very good to us, even though with it being a new bike for us we had the normal unexpected problems. We leave Albacete happy, because this bike still has room for improvement”.

“The test went well and we leave Albacete feeling good about things. I hadn’t been on the bike in a while –in fact since the Valencia test in December. We had a good pace going and the bike is ready to go at the Jerez Official Test. I was still having a little trouble with my shoulder when I was on track, but now I have to recover and see if I can be at 100% for that important test.”
