He lives in France and is married with three children. He is one of the most experienced individuals in the world of Cross-Country rallying and has worked as a co-driver and an organizer of events across the globe. Pascal began his motorsport initiation by working on prototype French and FIA World Rally Championship cars for Citroën between 1978 and 1981 at their base in Velizy, near Paris. He tackled the Dakar for the first time with Jacques Houssat in a race assistance truck and so began a long association with the African classic. After minor results with Jacques Houssat and Gérard Boin, he joined Bruno Saby and Mitsubishi for the 1992 Paris-Cape Town event and went on to partner the likes of Miguel Prieto, South African Giniel de Villiers, Spaniard Marc Blasquez and the UAE’s Khalifa Al-Mutawei. The undoubted highlight of his career was winning the Dakar Rally with Mitsubishi and Hiroshi Masuoka in 2002. Pascal rekindled that partnership with Masuoka after three years to finish third overall in the 2005 Rally of Tunisia and is now Masuoka’s regular co-driver. The pair was forced to retire from the 2006 Dakar Rally, following an accident which damaged their Pajero’s tubular frame. They have both taken part in the Tunisia and Morocco rallies during the 2006 season.
