Márquez y Pedrosa llegan a Francia al frente del Mundial y siendo los únicos pilotos de MotoGP que no han bajado del podio en 2014. El FIM CEV Repsol acompaña al Mundial en Francia y celebrará la segunda cita del año el sábado ‒sólo para la categoría de Moto3‒.
- – With a fourth victory and a fourth pole position from as many races to start the season, Marc Marquez equalled Giacomo Agostini’s start to the 1971 campaign. With another win he would become the youngest rider to string five premier class triumphs together since Mike Hailwood in 1962.
- – Dani Pedrosa won at Le Mans last year in the wet, and has been victorious at the French GP in every class.
- – Alex Rins took his first World Championship podium at a wet Le Mans two seasons ago, overcoming a finger fracture.
Thanks to a brilliant start to the season from the Repsol Honda riders, Marc Marquez and Dani Pedrosa arrive at round five of the MotoGP World Championship at the head of the overall standings. The reigning World Champion has had a phenomenal kick-off to the 2014 campaign, with a 100% record of four wins from pole position to his name thus far. Dani Pedrosa lies second in the series, 28 points behind, and the Repsol Honda duo are the only riders to have been on the podium at every round to date.
The historic Le Mans circuit holds fond memories for Alex Rins. He placed second there last year and took his first podium at the track in 2012 –braving wet conditions and a fractured finger to do so. Teammate Alex Marquez rode at the circuit for the first time last season, placing fifth. Both riders tested last week at MotorLand Aragon, with a focus on electronics and chassis development for their Honda NSF250RWs.
The FIM CEV Repsol accompanies the French Grand Prix as it heads outside Spain for the first of two occasions. The ideal preparation for the biggest stage, the series will host round two of the 2014 season in a Moto3 ‒only event at Le Mans. The two qualifying sessions will be held on the Friday, with the race on Saturday at 4:30pm local time.

“After another really great weekend in Jerez and a positive day of testing on Monday, we are now on our way to Le Mans. You never know what the weather will do there so it is important to start strong from FP1. Last year we had our first wet race here and I really learned a lot, but this year I hope it will remain dry! We know that Dani, Jorge and Valentino will come back at us hard here, but we will work on our own programme ‒as usual‒ and fight for victory or at least some important Championship points.”

“I enjoyed the weekend in Jerez, and the battle at the end with Rossi was a lot of fun. After Monday’s test I had a tight feeling in my right forearm. On Tuesday morning I went to see Dr. Mir and he recommended surgery immediately. We took his advice and it seems to be healing up well but I guess I won’t know until I’m back on the bike on Friday for FP1. I won for the first time in Le Mans in MotoGP last year in a very tough race. I enjoy the circuit and we’ve had good results there in the past but we must always pay attention to the weather! The testing in Jerez was useful and we confirmed some feelings, now we must see if they translate to the track this weekend.”

“We face the French Grand Prix with the desire to have a good weekend. We know that up until Jerez we had been chasing Jack Miller at the top of the standings. After last week’s test in Aragon, we will try to be little closer to him, or even overtake him. That is important. Looking at the results of the test, we are more motivated.”

“Le Mans is a very peculiar circuit. I think that we can adapt well there. We will be lucky if the rain holds off all weekend, because there is usually at least one wet day there. Let’s hope that it is dry, and that we can set the bike up and find the best way forward. Last year I took fifth there and it is a track that could be good for both me and the bike, so we will try and get our setup down from the first practice onwards.”
