Repsol chose the days before the Spanish Grand Prix, to be held this weekend at the Jerez Circuit, to launch its competition advertising campaign for the 2011 season. Its protagonists are the Repsol Honda Team riders, Dani Pedrosa, Andrea Dovizioso and Casey Stoner, and Marc Márquez, 2010 125cc World Champion who this year competes in the Moto2 class.
The campaign shows Repsol’s personality through values such as talent, effort, teamwork and spirit of self-improvement. Motorcycling might seem an individual sport, but in fact, everything that happens on track depends completely on the work of a lot of people, who are devoted to achieve the most efficient fuel, to analyse and draw conclusions about each all data gathered from the race or to adapt the bike to the personality and riding style of each rider.
Repsol recreated a competition garage in a set located in Barcelona and also recorded images at the Parcmotor Castellolí circuit (Barcelona). The spot, shot in super slow motion at a thousand images per second, allows the viewer to catch all details of every gesture, of every movement within the Repsol Team garage at the Motorcycling World Championship, where engineers, mechanics and riders work to achieve a common goal: to improve every day.
A technical team of more than 60 people participated in the campaign, which also had the advice of the riders to recreate with the maximum accuracy the atmosphere in a competition garage. During the shooting four replica bikes of the official machines used by Dani Pedrosa, Andrea Dovizioso, Casey Stoner and Marc Márquez were used, as well as their official equipment (overalls, helmets, gloves and boots).
The advertising campaign was broadcasted yesterday for the first time by the main television channels in prime-time, coinciding with the Team Repsol launch at the Puertollano Industrial Complex (Ciudad Real). Several waves have been scheduled at the same time as the different Grand Prix in Spain and on all media: television (20 and 30 seconds spots), press, radio and internet.
Repsol, who has been involved in the competition world for more than 40 years –an unparalleled test bench for its products–, accumulates a lot of experience in the development and manufacture of fuels and lubricants for the main motorsport competitions. In the last four decades, the company has been present in all motorsport competitions, from the Motorcycling World Championship to Formula One, as well as the Dakar Rally, Trial World Championship, WRC, WTCC, World Series or GP2.
