The Repsol Classic Team, the most important classic car team in Spain, and one of the main teams on a European scale, was present last weekend on the 10th and 11th of May at the most important classic single-seater race of the year, the Monaco Grand Prix. In order to take part in this test, which is held on the same track as the Formula One Grand Prix, a restricted invitation must be received from the Automobile Club de Monaco, who selects the world’s best vehicles.
Every two years, the streets of Monte-Carlo are closed in order to celebrate the Monte-Carlo Historic Grand Prix. A weekend where half a dozen races with single-seaters from different periods are held, from the pre-war category to the more recent formulas from the eighties. A special opportunity to watch once again, as if by means of time-travel, units manufactured by some of the most prestigious brands, racing in the very same setting. Older cars by Bugatti, Alfa Romeo, Allard, era or Bristol share the paddock with more recent brands like March, McLaren, Brabham, Cooper, Lotus, BRM, etc. . .The Repsol Classic Team was present at Monaco with an Osca Maserati MT-4, driven by Carlos de Miguel, sporting No 1 in the third race, limited to vehicles manufactured up to 1952. This Osca left the factory in 1949 and was chassis number twelve of those manufactured by the Maserati brothers in Bologne. Under the front bonnet there is a 1.100cc engine which reaches 85BHP with its 425 kilogram weight.
