Alex Rins places tenth and Alex Marquez nineteenth on first day of practice in Italy.
After rain yesterday and last night, during the morning the Moto3 riders ride on a wet track under low temperatures, in an unusual development for Mugello. With a cautious approach to the conditions, Alex Rins set the fourth fastest time and Marquez the thirteenth in the session –in which Jonas Folger was the quickest rider.
In the afternoon, rain and clouds gave way for the sun and, on a completely dry track, times dropped rapidly. During the first half of the session, Rins remained in the top three, behind Salom and Folger, while teammate Alex Marquez –on his first visit to the circuit- was further back, with around the 24th fastest time.
Finally, after the first adjustments to his setup, Rins stopped the clock at 2’01.133, 1’01.527 off fastest man Luis Salon. Alex Marquez finally occupied nineteenth position on the timesheets, with a best lap of 2’01.792.
