Two mistakes during the last lap of the day left the Repsol Honda rider in the second position. Jaime Busto finished sixth and Takahisa Fujinami, eighth.
The first race of the Andorran Grand Prix was decided by a very small margin. After taking the lead of a very tense round due to the riders’ performances being so close, Toni Bou made a couple of mistakes in the last lap that gave the lead to Adam Raga, who won today by four points. The Repsol Honda rider leads the overall standings with an advantage of 31 points over the second, Raga.
Young Jaime Busto finished today in sixth after an irregular performance where he did a good second lap, with 15 points, though the first and third laps were not so good and kept him far from podium positions.
His team mate, Takahisa Fujinami, did not feel comfortable in the highest zones of the trial that had some consecutive steps and he was not able to ride as he did in the last races. From fighting for the fifth place, the Japanese rider ended in eighth position.
Tomorrow, the second and last day of the Andorran Trial, sixth round of the season, will take place with another three laps to the 12 kilometres itinerary in Sant Julia de Loria. The organization announced some changes to the zones to increase the level required and make them more selective.

“It’s clear that I made more mistakes than I should. In the first lap it went well, but in the second and third I made a couple of mistakes. All the riders are somewhat indignant, as the marshals don’t apply the rules as they should; some of the zones end up being too easy and we don’t like that. The second place isn’t a negative result, at all, because I got some valuable points for the championship.”

“This Trial in Andorra, at such height, has been difficult for us. The zones kept changing in each lap and the itinerary got more complicated. It’s my worst result of the season and, after the good trend of the last rounds, I didn’t expect being so far back. I hope to be able to recover tomorrow and pass the steps, so that I don’t gather so many points. My knee feels perfectly well.”

“The sixth place isn’t a bad result, but I wanted to do better. I made some mistakes in the easy zones and in the more difficult ones I improved. Maybe the height and the head did affect me… I’m not satisfied with the result in some zones. I will try to improve tomorrow.”
