Victory for the Repsol Honda Team rider in the first day of the Trial World Championship round in Great Britain, where Busto finished fifth and Fujinami seventh.
Toni Bou was able to continue unbeaten in this seventh race of the Trial World Championship that took place today in Great Britain. In a race complicated by the track’s conditions, the several times Champion did a great first lap that eventually gave him the win after a close fight with Adam Raga, who had to settle for second. His team mates at the Repsol Honda Team, Jaime Busto and Takahisa Fujinami finished fifth and seventh, respectively.
The intermittent rain was one of the main protagonists of this first day of the British Grand Prix, making the zones more difficult. In a brilliant first lap, Bou was able to receive only 5 points. The round was tied after three fails in the second lap – where he received 21 points –, but the advantage he had and the 15 points received on the last lap gave him the overall victory.
Fifth place for Jaime Busto, whose great consistency allowed him to progressively climb places in the overall standings. Takahisa Fujinami, who started the race with a lot of points – had seven fails in the first lap –, was able to improve in the second lap to finish in the seventh place overall.
With this result, Bou now has 140 points in the overall classification, 31 more than the second placed. Tomorrow in Nord Vue, the second and last day of this fourth Grand Prix of the season will take place. The riders will repeat today’s zones, with 3 passes around the 12 areas.

“I’m satisfied of how it went today, especially during the first lap, where I think I made a difference. In the second lap I started very badly and they set a very strict fail because I stopped. In the last lap I was doing well and managed the race, but failed in the last zone. Anyway, I’m very happy with this victory and particularly to have beaten Adam [Raga], who was very good today. Leading the Championship with an advantage of 31 points after winning the first seven races is amazing. I’m in a very good moment and I hope to continue with this level of riding for a long time.”
Takahisa Fujinami
7th – 104 points
“I had a very bad beginning. Nothing went how I wanted… I lost concentration and wasn’t confident enough. I even thought I might finish last. Luckily, I recovered a bit and the second lap went better, though with some mistakes. In the last lap I took the wrong line in zone 1 and dropped from fifth to seventh. It’s my worst result of the year and I can only try to compensate it tomorrow.”
Jaime Busto
5th – 102 points
“The zones were good in the first lap, but with the rain that fell during the second, it was much more complicated. Nevertheless, I think that in the end it didn’t go so bad and I could even have finished in a better place. Each time I get on the Montesa Cota 4RT I feel better and with this bike and this team it’s easy to improve.”
