Spanish Grand Prix. Driver´s comments

Valentino Rossi: ‘I always like the feeling of coming back to race in Europe and especially at Jerez’.
MotoGP. Valentino Rossi: I always like the feeling of coming back to race in Europe and especially at Jerez. The circuit for me is very good and I have many happy memories there. I am pleased with the way the season is going so far; the team is working very hard to make the best bike package. The competition is strong and as we have seen in the first two races there are many riders who can arrive first. This is good for the show and Im sure there will be a great crowd at Jerez who will enjoy the spectacle.  MotoGP.Nicky Hayden: A long time ago when I was a kid, Wayne Rainey had a 125cc team and he invited me and my elder brother Tommy over to Spain. We raced at Jarama and Jerez. So I have raced there but I really didnt remember it at all when we tested the five-cylinder there before Christmas. Unfortunately it rained for basically the whole test so I really didnt learn whole lot. But the track looked like a whole load of fun; I learnt some lines and I look forward to riding there this time around. 250. Fonsi Nieto: ‘Racing at home is an additional incentive. I have a good memory of Jerez. Last year I got my first victory here and this year I would like to repeat it. We haven’t had a good start of the season; we’ve had a lot of problems with the set-ups during the preseason. We found the right way to follow in South Africa, but I wasn’t lucky with the tyre in the race. Now that we’re going to race at home it would be great to get on the highest step of the podium again in front of all the Spanish fans. 250. Toni Elias: Too bad I’ll have to race at the Spanish Grand Prix under these circumstances. Despite the good results of the operation, I still have a lot of discomfort and pain, but I know it’s something normal, considering that the injury is quite recent. I’m doing the prescribed finger rehab every day, it has improved a lot but strength and movement are yet limited. Yesterday I went to see Doctor Mir. He told me that they wouldn’t take off the stitches until after Jerez. The scar is recent and it might open with little effort. Now there’s only left to see how I feel on the bike. I know it’s going to be hard but this won’t be hindering me from racing at home. I’m happy to at least be able to take part in this Grand Prix in front of all the Spanish fans. 125. Dani Pedrosa. Getting to the Spanish Grand Prix as Championship leader and after the victory in South Africa is very important for me, but the season has just started and we have to stay concentrated. After two races so far away, arriving in Europe and especially in our country is something good. Jerez is always a special Grand Prix, above all due to he atmosphere there is during the whole weekend. I like the circuit, last year I missed the podium after some mechanical problems during the race and this year I hope to make up for it with a podium finish.
