The Repsol Honda Team rider is recovering from the surgery he had in his right knee to arrive in perfect shape to the Outdoor World Championship in April.

Takahisa Fujinami is among the Trial World Championship elite since 1996 and, after having surgery this winter will now face with his usual smile the new edition of the Outdoor World Championship. Still recovering for his right knee surgery, he did not lose any motivation and together with his team mate, the 16 times World Champion Toni Bou, the Japanese rider will be once again one of the stars of the competition that will begin next April 25 at his home country.

How do you face your season? Which are your objectives?
“I think it’s difficult to take a title from my team mate, Toni Bou, Nevertheless, he’s my team mate and a good support for me. I will do my best and will try to be in the top 3, that’s my aim.”

How is it to live with a great champion as Toni Bou?
“He’s my team mate, but also my friend. Some weekends we go have dinner together and as riders we also feel well together.”

You were able to meet Marc [Márquez] and ride with him. What do you think about his achievements in MotoGP?
“He’s amazing. He never wants to lose and that’s why he always does his best, always at 100% or even 120%. When we rode the trial bike he was the same, you could see his character. He’s very good.”
