Just one day after the official launch of Marc Márquez Moto2 team, the Repsol rider was to train today at the Jerez Circuit. Nevertheless, he was only able to do six laps before a hailstorm interrupted the tests, that could not be started again due to the rain.
After the anticipation about the new definitive designs of Marc Márquez’s Moto2, it should not have been too long before seeing it in action. The whole team travelled to Jerez just after the event to take part today in the last preseason tests. However, the weather changed significantly from last week and forced all riders to stay most of the day in their garages.
The sun and nice temperatures from seven days ago changed to cold and unstable weather that did not allow the first day of the three scheduled to go on as planned. With 10ºC of ambient temperature and the asphalt at only 18ºC, Marc Márquez went out to the track at half past eleven in the morning. He did 6 laps to reacquaint himself with the track. During the rest of the day it was raining intermittently, so they had to interrupt all work until the conditions improve.
Marc Márquez 1’45.229 s, 6 laps, 27 km.
“We could only complete six laps, so I could not do what we planned. In the morning the asphalt was at about 18º C and, together with my team, we decided not to take unnecessary risks. We only could check that everything was well with the bike. I hope the weather improves tomorrow and we are able to continue with the bike’s evolution”.

“We hoped to go on with our training plan in Jerez but we were not able to. The low temperatures conditioned our work. Mark was eager to go out of the garage, but we have to be patient and prudent”.
