After two years taking part in the most significant national and international classic car races, the Repsol Classic Team starts its third season to once again take a piece of Spain’s automobile history to the races of today. Emblematic cars, like the Renault Alpine 1600 SX and the Porsche 911 RSR, will again sport the emblematic white R on a blue circle, surrounded by one white ring and one red ring, at the most prestigious competitions in Europe.
At lunchtime today, in the framework of the Madrid International Classic Vehicle Fair, Classic Auto, the 2010 race calendar of the Repsol Classic Team was presented, which will take part in ten national and international races. With more than fifteen vehicles, all in excellent condition, the team has been confirmed as one of the main classic car teams in the country and Europe. This year, it will take part in top level races, such the Monaco Historic Grand Prix, the Le Mans 24-hour, the Tour de España and the Rally Shalymar.
Ferrari, Jaguar, Alfa Romeo, Lancia, Cadillac, BMW and Osca vehicles, among other makes of cars, will race wearing the colours of the Repsol Classic Team, a team that brings back memories of the wins of the Escuderia Repsol, which was so successful in the seventies. The aim is for at least four vehicles to take part in each race in order to tackle an ambitious calendar that started last week with the Historic Monte-Carlo Rally and which will finish in November with the Rally Shalymar.
