The Repsol Honda Team bring the the test sessions in Brno to an end

The two Repsol riders have brought their intense testing program to a satisfactory conclusion, this included tests on both the chassis and the engine on the Honda RC212V…

With less favourable conditions than yesterday very few riders were able to improve their lap times, although the Repsol Honda riders reckon that the day has been very productive. Hayden did 72 laps, working on the fork adjustments and the rear shock-absorber before testing a new set of Michelin tyres. Today at the same time Pedrosa concentrated on the tyres, doing 59 laps of the 5 403m of the Brno circuit after yesterday`s tests on the engine and chassis.

After these tests the Repsol Honda Team trucks are making their way to the modified circuit of Misano in Italy which hosts the 13th date of the 2007 World Motorcycling Championship on 2nd September. The famous circuit is back in the calendar for the first time since 1993.

Nicky Hayden,
1’58.70 – 72 laps
‘This was a positive test and a decent weekend for us in general. We have been in the leading positions most of the time, and taking into consideration where we have been many times this season, this is a definite improvement. Today we tested some set ups on the fork and the rear shock absorber, several changes were made to the engine and I have did some tyres tests with the Michelins. We have not made any special progress but it was worth coming here. I want to thank the team because they have been working very hard for five days without a break.’

Dani Pedrosa,
1’59.23 – 59 laps
‘Today basically we have been testing quite a lot for Michelin: variations with the construction and compounds to try and improve our performance and resistance, especially towards the end of the race. The circuit was wet in the morning and there was also quite a bit of wind, so we lost some test time today. The forecast was rain, but we were able to enjoy some dry weather in the afternoon, so we were lucky. It was useful to test these tyres. We did not found that they make a lot of improvement but the information that we have got today should be of use to Michelin and help them with their tyre development for the race in Misano. I am dying to go there because I have never raced at that circuit’
