The Repsol Moto3 rider has to serve a total of three penalties, dropping him down to 17th position. Ryusei Yamanaka finishes 20th.
Sergio García Dols had a great race at Misano, starting well and moving into the points. When he was setting quicker times than the frontrunners, however, he had to serve three ‘long lap’ penalties that hindered his attempt to move up the order. García Dols finished the Emilia Romagna Grand Prix in 17th position.
Teammate Ryusei Yamanaka would cross the line in 20th, improving on his grid position. The Japanese rider tried to maintain a consistent pace throughout the 23-lap contest.
García Dols is now 18th in the overall standings, with 19 points. Yamanaka is 21st, with 12.
SERGIO GARCÍA DOLS – 17th
“Today was really crazy. I started well and I was into the Top 15, coming on strong, but contact with another rider made me go wide and I lost touch. I had to close up a big gap and also had the ‘long lap’ penalty from the other day to do. I was quite fast with it and I started riding with better times than the frontrunners, which is when I was able to catch the front group. Then, once again, I got two long lap penalties for exceeding the track limits and they caused me to finish in this position. Nevertheless, I am very happy with my pace and I think I will go to Montmeló prepared.”
RYUSEI YAMANAKA – 20th
“I didn’t start badly at all, but on the fast corners it was hard for me to pass many riders. It is difficult for us to find a good setup for the race, and that hurts me a lot. I tried to join the group in front of me from the start, but I wasn’t able to do it. The positive thing is that I rode alone for a large part of the race and I was able to analyse what we need to improve for the next race at Montmeló.”
