The Repsol Honda Team rider dominates the first of the two rounds of the Indoor World Championship, held in Andorra.
Repsol Honda Team rider Toni Bou, looking for his 30th world title, started the reduced X-Trial World Championship season with a victory in Andorra.
On the first lap, mistakes led to him finishing fourth with seven penalty points. However, his improvement on the second round took him directly to the semifinal and final, where Bou was impeccable and avoided receiving a single point, earning victory over Adam Raga.
In two weeks, on November 21st, the second and final round of the Indoor World Championship will take place at the Palau Sant Jordi in Barcelona. Bou will seek to defend the title and become a 30-time World Champion at his home race.
I am very happy with this victory. After 20 months without participating in X-Trial, the feeling was strange today. To compete again in front of the fans in Andorra was amazing. We know that Barcelona, which is also my home race, will be very difficult, and that is why it was very important to win here today. On the first lap I picked up points and I made mistakes. However, on the second round and the final it was spectacular, not only because I did not commit any penalties, but because I felt very comfortable riding safely and aggressively. I am very happy with my riding, but above all with the team. I want to thank them for all the work they have done this last month after winning the Outdoor World Championship, to get the bike ready for the Indoor Championship.
