Toni Bou notches up his seventh victory in eight races

Toni Bou has notched up another victory this Sunday in the World Trial Championship. The Repsol rider has now accumulated seven triumphs out of the eight rounds so far. This victory in Poland consolidates further his position as leader of the general standings…
Toni Bou was the best in the first round, with Dougie Lampkin and Takahisa Fujinami close behind with just two and three points more respectively. The British and Japanese riders were close to completing a great treble for the Repsol-Montesa HRC team, but saw the podium snatched away at the last moment. Laia Sanz was 10th in the Junior World Cup.Toni Bou:We’ve had a fantastic run and it can only continue like this. This victory was very important because I now have a one race advantage as leader, with one round less to go and we are at a very important stage of the championship. This situation gives us a bit of breathing space, although I certainly won’t be relaxing. There are still many more points to play for and we have to keep working, taking things one race at a time.Takahisa Fujinami:It’s a shame. We were in a position to get a really great result for the team and in the end it slipped through our fingers. Overall, I don’t think I did badly, but I cannot be satisfied.Dougie Lampkin:I felt good in the first round, when I was quite close to Toni, but I dropped off in the second and I paid for it by losing three places. It is a bad feeling to be close to that sort of result and then lose it.Next Sunday, July 15th, the ninth round of the World Championship will take place in Kramolin (Czech Republic).* Polish GP standings  1.
