Repsol Montesa-HRC rider Toni Bou finished second in the Irish Trials Grand Prix, disputed this Sunday. The current World Champion struggled to the last with Adam Raga for the victory, during a test which was held in freezing weather and on quite a rough track. After conceding four points to the final winner in the first round, Toni Bou gave his best performance of the day during the second round, which finally cut the advantage over him down to just one point.
Teammate Takahisa Fujinami again took the third step on the podium, after improving considerably in the second round. The Repsol Montesa-HRC team takes another victory among brands and increases its advantage in the general classification. Laia Sanz was fourteenth in the Junior category. The next World Trials Championship event will take place in Sequatchie (USA), where the third and fourth tests for points will be disputed, on the 26th and 27th of April, respectively.Toni BouI made a few mistakes that could be considered unimportant, but faced with such a strong and consistent rival as Adam Raga, they become important. During the second round I improved and recovered my situation, though it was not enough. Without a doubt, this Championship is proving to be very hard and exciting.Takahisa Fujinami I don’t feel satisfied because I conceded too many points, particularly during the first round. I improved during the second round and managed to recover enough to make it to the podium, which is always a good thing.
