The Repsol Montesa Honda rider finished second in the race held today in the Czech Republic. Takahisa Fujinami was sixth.
Toni Bou still leads the Trial World Championship overall standings after finishing second in the Czech Republic Grand Prix that took place today in Kramolin. Four rounds before the end of the series, the Repsol Montesa Honda rider has an advantage of two points over his closest rival, Adam Raga, who was winner today. Takahisa Fujinami finished sixth and is now fourth in the overall classification.
The ninth round of the Trial World Championship offered low-demanding zones, contrary to last weekend high-level zones in Italy. The several times World Championship fought for victory until the last moment, and finished with only 12 points, 3 more than Raga –winner– and 5 less than Albert Cabestany –third–.
His team mate, Takahisa Fujinami, lost his chances in the first zones and finished the day with 40 points, which made him lose his third place in the overall standings. He is now fourth with 119 points –one behind Cabestany–, in a championship led by Bou with 163 points, ahead of Raga, who has 161.
The Czech Republic Grand Prix is the last one of the season that features only one day. The next round, the British Grand Prix, will be next July 27th and 28th.
Toni Bou
“I think we cannot battle for the World Championship in rounds with such low difficulty and with the marshals making mistakes, which is what happened today. There are still four rounds to go and I hope they will be more demanding and properly controlled. I have nothing else to say”.
Takahisa Fujinami
“I had a bad day. The bike worked perfectly, but my head didn’t. I started bad, with two mistakes in the first three zones, and in such an easy trial as today, that is discouraging. I lost focus and then only thing of which I’m relatively satisfied is the third lap, when it was too late to aim for something better”.
