The Repsol Honda HRC rider achieves his third Guinness World Record as part of a legendary career in trials competition.

Toni Bou set a new Guinness World Record this Wednesday, after successfully completing a challenge held in Piera, his hometown. The 39-time World Champion performed 53 rear wheel hops in a circle of Repsol barrels. This display of precision, technique and control was another impressive showing from the most decorated rider in the history of trials, surrounded by fans devoted to their local hero.

The challenge took place at the Toni Bou roundabout, where the statue dedicated to the rider stands. Accompanied by family, locals, fans, and media, Bou once again made Piera the centre of attention in the world of trials with a feat that combined showmanship, excitement, and top-level talent.

This new Guinness World Records recognition is the third in his career: On October 11th, 2014, he first entered the record book with a 3.24 metre vertical jump from a ramp. Three years later, in 2017, Bou raised the bar to 3.28 metres -and added to it a new record for a standing jump of 2.05 metres.

The Repsol Honda HRC rider is the most decorated competitor in his sport, with 39 world titles, 168 victories, and 226 podium finishes in TrialGP, in addition to 99 victories and 117 podium finishes in X-Trial. After completing the attempt, Bou received official certification of the record from Guinness World Records adjudicator Anouk de Timary. The event was also attended by the Secretary of Sport of the Generalitat local government, Abel García Marín, the mayor of Piera, Carme González, and the Repsol Honda HRC team, supporting their rider in this new achievement in his career.

Toni Bou:
I am very happy to have achieved this new Guinness World Record, and doing it here in Piera makes it even more special. It was a very technical challenge, requiring a lot of precision and concentration, and it was physically tough -much more so than it seemed from outside. Being able to share this with the people of this town, my family and all the fans has been incredible. It is a day I will always remember, and I want to thank Repsol and my team for making it possible.
