Laia Sanz keeps winning every single Women’s European Trial Championship event she part takes in. The Spaniard remains unbeaten since August 2002, when she won the first one of now eight consecutive European titles. The super-champion took victory on last Saturday’s race held in Coazze, in the north of Italy, during the first event of this year’s championship.
The Repsol pilot’s triumph was very clear, as she just got a one-point penalty in each of the trial’s two rounds, and finished the competition with a 17-point lead over the runner-up. With this, Laia Sanz has taken part in 29 European Championship events since 2000, having won 26 of them and coming out second in the remaining three.
This year’s edition of the European Trial Championship will consist of two more events, one in La Rabassa (Andorra) and another one in Tanval (Czech Republic) on June 12 and August 28, respectively.

“Generally speaking it hasn’t been a tough competition, although some sections were really hard and more complicated then they looked. When I first checked the track I didn’t expect the big point differences that there finally were. As always, my main goal is to revalidate my European and World Champion titles, and such a good start really shows that we are doing a good job”.
