Dani Pedrosa, fastest Repsol rider in Valencia
Fonsi Nieto, Toni Elias, Valentino Rossi and Tohru Ukawa will start from the second row of the grid in their respective categories
Valentino Rossi has mentioned more than once, that this is not one of his favourite tracks. In a problem-free day for the first ever MotoGP World Champion, Rossi finished sixth fastest, despite showing himself optimistic for tomorrows race. The Italian Max Biaggi, set the fastest time, followed by Barros, Kato and McCoy. Tohru Ukawa, who will try to clinch tomorrow the second overall place of the championship, finished seventh in this afternoons practice session. In the 250cc, Fonsi Nieto, sixth, and Toni Elias, eighth, both with set-up problems, were not able to improve the times set yesterday and will have to start tomorrow from the second row of the grid. Marco Melandri has been fastest in this category, ahead of De Puniet, Porto and Alzamora. The recently crowned World Champion wasn’t able to improve yesterdays times either. In the 125cc Dani Pedrosa is showing a remarkable performance this weekend. Fastest yesterday, Pedrosa has dominated the second qualifying session showing his superiority over Poggiali, Nieto and Vincent, who will join him tomorrow on the first row of the starting grid.
