A historic one-two-three finish for the Repsol riders – Quintero, Ferreira and Lategan – at the fourth round of the World Raid Championship, a race in which Isidre Esteve finished in nineteenth place.

The fifth stage of the Rally of Morocco concluded on Sunday with a historic one-two-three finish for Repsol drivers Seth Quintero, Joao Ferreira and Henk Lategan. The victory and third position achieved at the wheel of Toyota Gazoo Racing’s GR DKR Hilux vehicles, powered by Repsol fuel containing 70% renewable content, saw also the second place of Ferreira, having also has the backing of Repsol Lubricants. The event also saw a strong performance from Isidre Esteve, who finished the race in nineteenth position.

Quintero and his co-driver Andrew Short, Ferreira with Palmeiro, along with Lategan and his co-driver Brett Cummings, consistently ranked among the fastest and most consistent competitors, reaching the penultimate stage at the top of the standings. The Repsol drivers maintained their high level of performance in Sunday’s final stage, achieving a new milestone for the energy company and demonstrating the capabilities of its renewable fuels in one of the rally-raid championship’s most demanding environments. The Rally of Morocco is a showcase event in the discipline for its rocky tracks, dunes, sand, and high temperatures, and serves as a crucial competitive proving ground ahead of the upcoming Dakar Rally.

With this result – Seth Quintero’s second consecutive victory following his win in Argentina – the American has climbed to the top of the overall standings in the World Rally Raid Championship, with one race remaining in Abu Dhabi.

For Isidre Esteve, the event also provided an opportunity to rack up more kilometres with an eye on the Dakar competition, marking his return to action following the cancellation of the Baja Aragón due to fire risks. The Repsol Rally Team driver was able to regain his rhythm in his GR DKR Hilux and, alongside his co-driver, Txema Villalobos, finish in nineteenth position.

The Morocco Rally concluded a demanding week of competition and a pivotal event for Toyota Gazoo Racing and Repsol, during which renewable fuel was once again put to the test under extreme conditions and on terrain representative of the major challenge awaiting in January: The Dakar Rally. It is a partnership that continues to advance the decarbonisation of motorsport.
