Yamanaka climbs fifteen places at Misano

The Repsol Moto3 rider finishes the San Marino Grand Prix in twelfth position. Sergio García Dols crashes after a great start and places 25th.

Ruysei Yamanaka made a great fightback at the Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli on raceday. The Japanese rider crossed the finish line in twelfth position, after climbing fifteen places, putting in some fast laps and scoring four very important points.

Teammate Sergio García Dols, who started from eleventh on the grid after strong progress throughout the weekend, suffered a crash at Turn 4 of the first lap, when he was in the front group. The Repsol rider remounted and took the chequered flag 25th.

García Dols is seventeenth in the overall standings with 19 points. Yamanaka moves up a place to twentieth, with 12 points.

SERGIO GARCÍA DOLS – 25th

“I started very well, overtaking ten riders in two corners. I was very well positioned, but at Turn 4 I tried to overtake Vietti and was unable to avoid Raúl Fernández in front of me. I apologize to both Raúl and Celestino; now we have to focus on next week and the second chance we have.”

RYUSEI YAMANAKA – 12th

“It was a fantastic race. We know how difficult it is to start from 27th, and today was very tough from the beginning. Before the race my only thought was to start strong and push hard, forgetting about how we were so far back. Thanks to my braking, I was able to progress and even set a few fast laps, but at the end of the race I made a mistake when I was eighth. I don’t regret the mistake, as it was because I wanted to give everything, and I am happy with the final result. We have to work a lot in Free Practice, which is what we are struggling with the most.”
